Rather than selecting motifs based on appearance, I analyzed how they were built. Using CorelDRAW, I digitally reconstructed traditional ornaments as vector graphics, allowing me to compare their geometry, symmetry, rhythm, repetition, and structural relationships. This process helped separate visual principles from literal decoration, creating a flexible library of design elements that could be translated into modern garments. The research gradually shifted from surface graphics to garment architecture. Instead of placing ornaments onto clothing, I explored how the same principles could influence silhouette, layering, proportion, seam placement, and volume. Traditional felt garments, wrapped constructions, and nomadic layering systems became references for contemporary pattern development rather than historical replicas. Material exploration followed the same approach. Wool, felt, leather, and natural textures were studied not only for their cultural significance but also for their structural qualities. The colour palette evolved from naturally dyed textiles and the landscapes of Kyrgyzstan, resulting in restrained tones that reinforce the collection's architectural forms. From research to execution, I developed the project independently, including cultural research, visual analysis, vector illustration, concept development, fashion illustration, material exploration, pattern making, garment construction, styling, photography, and creative direction.
